Energy Savings Tips
There has been a good stretch of weather lately where we’ve been able to open the windows and turn off the air conditioner and furnace. Have you noticed any difference in your utility bills?
As we’re about to head into the colder months, here are some tips to continue keeping those bills low(er):
- Unplug appliances when not in use. Although they are turned off, they do draw a small amount of electricity. Over time, this adds up!
- Limit electricity during peak times during the day. Turn down the furnace when you’re not home.
- Open the blinds and retract the awnings – let the sunshine in to heat your house.
- Run the dishwasher and laundry machines only when you have full loads.
- Don’t forget to turn off the lights when leaving a room!
- Consider energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs.
- Utilize your fireplace on cool nights to help heat your home and give your furnace a break.
Don’t forget – we are here to help! We have many energy-efficient fireplaces available that are just perfect to help keep your home’s utility bills under control.
